Intially, I thought SD prices are falling and wanted to buy one. Until I had a shock yesterday. Saw someone in the forum posting "D" series SD at $7,900 and another at $9,000. Is it a typo error or my eyes playing tricks with me. Not very keen to even pay $7,200 for a "D" series SD.
Guessed I will have to wait then. Cash is king now. Any bros out there who would like to comment on this phenomenon?
Ridiculous price!:siao Wow! D series 9k?. My M series only selling at 8k range. Who?

...will people bite is the issue.
as far as I know, some people have been trying to sell their SDs for as long as 6 months liao!
There's no phenomenon. People are just trying to capitalise on "hearsay" to increase sale price of the seadweller. Sad to say, there are still people buying.

How do you know what price it was sold at and whether sold or just on hold?
[QUOTE=jarren;90516]absolutely... there is a seller listed a brand new SD today 24/9 at 10am and watch was sold at 5pm. pricing is very important too.[/QUOTE
and then someone flakes later - since it is a favourite pastime among some buyers. LOL - ok ok don't worry not starting flaking debate here again.......hahaha
Just 12-months ago, a new SD off the gray market was $6,400 (Z-series). So really, anything above $6.4k for an SD is not exactly a bargain. I would say that only if Z-series SD come down to about $6k is it a good price ... and maybe $6.8k for M-series SD.
Just 12-months ago, an A-series SD with papers and no box was $5k. So at $7k and above, it's not cheap even now. It may be in a boom-market... but not in a bear market.
In any case, I have watched the "FS" forum here at SG-Roc since it's inception. IMHO, nothing here is cheap... and the only item I ever bought off this forum was too expensive.
Since that time I have come to rely on my regular dealer. I get my watches at less than the asking prices on this forum, with a 12-month shop warranty to boot.

People are nervous nowadays, with US economy, Europe economy down, bank goes bankrupt, who's not nervous. Put lots of money in the bank u also feel nervous! There's lot of Sub and SD for sale now, Seem to me best price would sell, example our SRC $6800 for M series with box but lost paper,
this a very good deal, I for one wouldn't mind buying this watch, good value
for money. Cheers to you SRC!!
Those who try their luck at higher price I say good luck for your sale!! Take for e.g. YM D series sale for $8600.00 w Paper no box, price difference $1700.00 If I intend to spend $8600.00 I would not mind paying additional $1700.00 a piece of mind buying brand new with 2 years warranty. Second hand you do not know the history of the watch end up you might spend more money than you though!
Have a good day! Mate!
Agree with bro Redsub ... particularly on the YM example ...

TheSeadweller is also plenty comfortable, but due to it's size and weight one could probably say there are more comfortable watches out there. But after a few hours of wear one gets over the initial shock of its size and you don't think about it much any more. The Rolex Sea-Dweller, with a rotating bezel and black dial, is an attractive looking, easy to read, watch.
If I were to sell my 16600 (bought in 2005) today I'll make a profit. It depends on when you bought it and at what price.
As for the DSSD, I have not seen it here yet. Word has it that ADs are asking RM42K, way above list price. My advise is not to be kiasu and rush out to buy one so soon. And definitely not by paying such a high premium. Being a new model and a Rolex, it will probably be in production for the next 10 years.
And for those of you who travel abroad frequently, there are some foreign ADs who give a discount from the list (retail) price. This is how the grey market can flourish.
Bros, any idea how much is the deep sea dweller selling for now? Saw my customer wearing it a few weeks back. Wow, what a commanding presence. Can't help but keep noticing his watch.
He told me he bought it from South Korea but was very vague about the price. Just told me about $14,000 ++.....
Unfortunately, potential buyers looking at the "falling prices" now hesitant and we now have a downwards cycle where there are less buyers and more sellers, and sellers being kiasu and now start to revised price downwards and this makes it worse, because buyers would now think that this confirms SD is "lose money" investment and won't buy. I suspect this is why some SDs going for < $7500 still no buyers. These are quite good prices for excellent condition SDs.

Another take from me is that the "falling prices" is the result of earlier buyers wanting to make a quick buck (buy from overseas and selling locally) and the local buyers, after buying a piece and found price "dropping" want to sell off quick to cut loss.
