  • Rolex deep sea how safe?

    TGIF bros!
Recently i acquired a Rolex DSSD from a fellow bro in Sg roc
For me i usually buy the seller before committing on the watch...
My question is, how safe is it to buy Rolex watch without authenticating?
For me i check the following, please comments

    1) Crown laser etching must be present (can counterfeit do that?)
If no.1 fail then no need proceed already
    2) Check chapter ring serial against warranty card, tags
    3) Check stamped retailer online to see if it really exist
    4) Clasp code should be around warranty date

More or less i trust Singapore watch enthusiast but i cannot say the same back in where i based now
    Please chip in guys?

What you check is only the external, bring it to roc for Internal movement check.

          Hello!

What does Joshmac mean by checking the "clasp code against the warranty date"?
Is this to check if the bracelet is correct for the watch?
          How do we do this?

            hi there...

you can access this website to check the clasp codes: http://www.oysterworld.de/clasp-codes.html

For example, my deep sea is a V-series which means production dates starts from Aug 2008 till Jun 2010 and the clasp code is PJ10, meaning, it was produced in Oct of 2008 which conforms to the V-series. Hopes it help. Cheers...

Here is a good HD video that you can compare your watch side by side. Watchout for the nuance and small details like fonts type and size, spacing etc..The video shows a mk1 dial so probably for early V series and below. Here you go.
