Much nicer with strap.
But a flat strap would be better for this vintage.
Padded straps have a look which is too modern.

how does the bracelet feel? tight and all the links move smoothly, ie pass the "drop test"? planning to send 1 of mine to him plus a few rotten SS folded ones.

It was stiff initially but now collapses better than before. Sending SS bracelet for restoration is worthwhile, only US$120.

I went to his office but unfortunately didnt got the chance to meet him, very small setup mans by an aunty receptionist.

my RG is a little stretched that I have to remove 1 link, completely opposite of your prob.
