  • Buying from Grey Sellers

Any bros can help out on this? Was asked my a friend who is keen to buy a new PAM from one of the grey sellers out there. He was told its overseas AD set and warranty commences from the date he buys? Sets us wondering is the seller sort of representing the overseas AD in some way? Is it important to have a receipt for the warranty? What are some safe guards to watch out? Besides authentication a JW or TH.

it is highly likely that there is an agreement between the gray dealer and the AD that the set must be dated the moment there is a buyer. this is probably due to the fact that Richemont wants AD to date their sets when it is sold.

as you are posting in the panerai section, the watch in concern is a panerai? if it is, then there should be at least 2 boxes. there should be the watch serial sticker, the movement serial stickers. both sets of stickers should match the numbers on the watch itself. there should be a AD stamp on it, check that the AD is one of the AD listed under panerai. ask the seller if there is a receipt stating any information of the watch. can get the seller to mask out other information that is private.

other panerai guru may want to contribute more.
