Watch polish service advice.

    Watch polish service advice.

    Hi All Member,
    Which watch shop provide good service for watch case and bracelet complete polish?
    whole polish process need how long?and what is the price?

    you may check out any of the forum advertisers under the scrolling banner located at the top of the forum.

    it is best you bring down the watch to the shop and let them assess for the scratches and/or dings to determine cost of polish.

    if there are just minor scratches, you can consider using the cape cod cloth and polish on your own.

      if your watch is a gold watch....Don't polish!

      get a jeweler to use gold to cover the dings and dents and then buff lightly.

      Otherwise the polisher will take off a whole layer just to even your lugs with the dings.

      for stainless steel watches IMO no choice but to polish because only gold can stick to gold.

          That's a good advice for a newbie like me.

            Can first try to polish with cape cod cloth, personally used it for most scuffs and scratches on my watches and nothing too small that the cloth can't handle.

                  Price should be $150-$180 (market rate); there maybe cheaper if there lobang. Go to reputable watch shop and ask ask or the watch repair shop. I personnelly went to a watch shop in Tampines Mall level 1 to polish a rollie last few months... Dun ask me where as I am not their ambassador but the shop front is visible if you step into Tampines Mall. Hint: They also sell BALL watches there.

                      I am looking for some guides on DIY polishing of gold, brass and stainless steel watches. Some simple product you can buy off the shelves and also something you can do to prevent further tarnish after polishing the brass.
