  • Is servicing for JLC watches very expensive?

Hi I am thinking of getting a Reverso but the salesperson at a local AD told me that servicing a JLC watch is extremely costly, much more so than a Rolex. When i said servicing, i mean the 5-6 years interval servicing of the mechanical movement of the watch.

Anyone done servicing on their JLCs before can share roughly how much servicing costs?

if I remembered correctly, a friend of mine done his servicing due to a loosen part from its movement.
End up pay for almost $1k for it.

Can a part just came off just like that?
no hard drop no hard bump whatsoever.

Sounds damn scary. I heard similar stories about servicing for JLC too. End up I went for a Sub instead. Safe choice.

I've sent 2 Reversos for general servicing locally, and each time it came in just over SGD1k (inclusive of polishing). As I wanted archive extracts too, both watches were sent to Le Sentier for servicing rather than done locally. I think this is reasonable.

Only downside was the lengthy wait. Took about 4 mths.

Yes - it also depends where they do the servicing. I understand the complex job is sent to Geneva, thus the wait.

That's why I understand why the servicing is so expensive as compared to others

Not true. Simple jobs are done locally.

I serviced my master geographic for S$1,000. Yes they do send the watch overseas and you wait Long. Also for this price they give u the watch back in a nice mini JLC box with a watch bag and pillow. Totally not worth it.
