Trip from Italy to Amsterdam

Hi seniors,

I am currently planning a trip at the end of the year, most probably touch down at Italy and fly back from Amsterdam (still working on the details).

Still deciding whether to get a Rolex or a PAM.

Can please advise where/which should I get? Coz can't turn back to the country when over (if found the price to be cheaper at earlier location)...

Italy would be a better choice as thier economy has been hit really bad. I was recently in Milan and there are lots of AD there willing to do discounts. The rolex boutique on via Montenapoleone would be one of the better places to get a deal. There are also lots of AD surrounding the Duomo area. The net VAT refund is also fairly high at 14%

Also considering Amsterdam airport, can get before tax price, no need to go through the VAT refund procedure... still surfing on the price comparison...

The VAT refund will depend on which country you are leaving from the EU. They do VAT refund on CC or Cash and the cash part is lower, but the CC will take 6-8 weeks to process.

In Milan on the via Montenapoleone there is Panerai AD which is about 150 meters away from the Rolex flagship store - pisaorologeria . The discount for a SS in most European is very little to none at all, but this may change due to their current crisis. On my recent trip throughout Europe ; In Germany/France/Switzerland no discount on SS; Iceland no discount; Italy a small % like around 3 % ;Greece some AD's were willing to discount as high as 5%. The SS submariner is typically not discounted as its a popular model . It retails for 6250Eu black;6600Eu for the green including the VAT.

sadly, yes..

but I do spend quite some time in China & they have it worse there. I look at the prices of stuff there i.e. watches, branded clothes, it's at least 20% higher compared to SG/HK. That's y u see PRC folks spending like nobody's business in both countries.

anyway, really hoping for some bro to take some orders if he/they happen to go europe..

On the google map, my hotel is just about 5min walk to this Panerai AD. I shall go take a look next week.

You're in a very central position and pretty close to the Duomo. Most of the designer shops are situated around via Montenapoleon and also the Duomo. Enjoy your trip.
