    m33pok, I will send you a pm.

Hi DA, crazy news is I am not going to wear this watch, I am going to admire it for a while more then it disappears into my bank safebox. I want to keep it in the same minty condition for as long as possible. I only wear simple watches to work and on some days my daytona.

    wind128, thanks bro.
nice to have met up and chat the other day. I am going to download the book you recommended "100 years of rolex".
must say you have one of the best complete looking 1803 too! most 1803 bracelets are half dead or gone by now.

the correct number on the bracelet for very early 1803 is 53
for 18038 single quickset the number is 55
    although I have seen a 55 on a late 70s 1803.

Hey bro, thanks for your kind compliments on my humble watch. I have second thoughts about selling it now ...

Great for you to remember the book coz it is worth every cent to the serious Rolex collector (regardless of whether vintage collector or not).

received a PM from a member that a 1972 Day Date 1803 in rose gold (with aftermarket dial and bracelet looking a bit loose) was sold at the Hong Kong Antiquorum auction on 26 Feb 2011 for 106,250 HKD!

looks like there are some fanatical day date collectors like me up in HK too
