you can try chrono24.sg, type (watch brand name) then (year), example rolex 1979

depends on whether you want just watch only or with box and papers
depends on condition.

I've been looking for a 84 sub or explorer 1. How does one go about obtaining one from so long ago? Is there some specific shops which specialise in this? Or a list of forums where people specially trade old rolexes? Or through eBay, etc?

to look for your birth year rolex takes abit of luck.

there are a few ways that you can do it.

1) post it in this forum's WTB section and list the details you want
2) go to any preown watch shop that you know well and tell them what you want. they may or may not have the stock. if no stock, tell them to keep a look out for you and contact you if there is one.
3) look through ebay, etc on your own.

Only rolex factory will have this information and I don't think they would share this with you. Best you could do is to buy one with May 2013 dated in the certificate( that would be purchased date) .

May I Know if there is any way to identify if the watch birth year is in Msy 2013, or at least year 2013?
