Hublot is one of the highest losses for a 'luxury' watch.

How do you view it as a profitable investment with watch? The only time you will profit is if there is a "happening" like COE prices increasing then you can sell with profit otherwise u depre like a car.

if you can afford million dollar watches, or at least hundreds of thousands on one watch, you can look to buy something today from patek that will almost certainly be worth more that what you paid for it in future. unfortunately you will need to spend enough to just get on the wait list. and of course there're other economic factors such as inflation and what not you should consider.

everything else that is collectible NOW at "market value" is currently overpriced. as with any investment, you have to buy in at the right price. i've been buying up any 40mm rolex sport watch i can find at <$3,600 because i know they will sell for $300-$350 more down the road. 10% is pretty good in my books.

also, any modern/neo-vintage rolex model with a presentation dial or case back is also worth buying - but they are more difficult to price due to their rarity. but this lack of pricing also means there is more room for negotiation. flying overseas to buy a special rolex 14060M seems ridiculous but that was what i did because i know, in person with cash, i can get a better deal than via email. i also bought a ceramic sub on my way home from the AD that supplies me regularly with rolex parts.

genuine rolex parts is another neglected area that is worth looking into. i think an unopened blister pack of a rolex part will be worth more than its weight in gold in future.

certain recently discontinued patek and rolex watches are also great buys at the right price (eg 5960P at <62.5k). if you stick with rolex and patek AND buy them at the right price, you can't really go wrong in my opinion. just owning and wearing them is a fine experience in itself!

among other watches, i've also been snapping up all the cheap SBDC007s i can find in japan (went there a few times last year on buying sprees). in fact i just bought one LNIB for my personal use today from a local seller. the ones i bought from japan are all untouched and still stickered and i can't bear to use them. i've seen some on overseas forum at US$800-900 with no buyers. a real pity as they are much unloved now.

i wished i had bought a lot of samurais (actually, including a few more models in the prospex range like the sbds001 flightmaster and kinetic scuba masters) when they were dirt cheap and before seiko started their overseas expansions.

i do not recommend "investing" in watches if you don't know what you're doing or cannot afford it. for myself, at the end of the day, i'm buying within my means and these are watches i enjoy owning so i don't see a problem doing what i do. i am not a dealer (whether full time or part time or with shop or no shop) as i have a day job - but if i can make some money with my hobby... why shouldn't i?

putting my money in the bank for a nominal interest or some free gift and a lousy bank manager bugging me regularly is not what i want. i prefer having watches, even if i lose money when i sell them. this is the difference between me and a part-time dealer with no shop/staff.

ALL OPINIONS ABOVE ARE MINE. THEY DO NOT CONSTITUTE INVESTMENT ADVICE! I AM NOT AN INVESTMENT EXPERT NOR AM I IN THE INVESTMENT LINE!

Looking for some senior or experienced member for advice, Thanks. I usually just buy what I like, didn't think is from investment point of view.

This clearly tells me something. Don't always take what you read online as 'gospel' truths. Good or bad. Don't jump the gun and form a conclusion/opinion/judgement from just one source of information. It does more harm than good. Thankfully we are in the hobby that we know what the article is "inaccurately informing". Imagine the many out there who would just take this article as a "guiding light"
