My 2 cents worth. Get Honda HRV for peace of mind. I have 2 friends who bought Vezel, some defects. However as it is parallel import, it's not covered by Honda.

I generally find VW maintenance to be alright. I have a 2009 Jetta and raking over 175000 km mileage with very little maintenance.
