True ... Of our major local ADs, THG sale tend to have better selection but discounts had not been that great for the last one ...

just remind them that they are there to serve.... they are just like any other shop assistants. if they give me one kind of attitude, i will just tell them off by saying "you are here to serve.. keep that in mind".
in fact i think most of them can't even afford to get one inside their store.
i went to one of the shop. got an angmo was watching the watches behind the stand. they said nothing. but when i went over to the same stand. one of the guy told me i can't stand there. i was like "WTF".
without saying anything, i just walk out.

To be honest, if a shop gives me bad service, I'll just vote with my wallet. Not that free, can't be bothered to try and piss them off and sink down to their level.
Thou I have to say I met one very friendly lady Sales Assistant at the Raffles Place price. Was very eager to make a quick sale. Too bad I wanted to buy the watch as a surprise gift for my wife and since she was around, I wasn't going to buy it at that moment. In the end, I bought it at THG to support my friend.

I also had an experience sometime back, it was a middle age auntie serving me at one of our local ADs, I was wearing a swatch that day and I asked to see the IWC Top Gun Single Chrono, the auntie said i cannot let u touch the watch and she put on gloves and held the watch at the distance and continued, this watch has been paid in full by a customer already. I was likehow much this watch cost? 11k!? She behaved like the watch costs 110k! I immediately told her, oh don worry, I see for fun nia, I wont be buying any watches from you also. She gave me a face and I just walked out haha.

Imagine if the watch is scratched or damaged, did that mean I have to buy it? To me, the pleasure is not just owning the watch, but enjoying the buying purchase too. Anyway, apart from the poor attitude, the discounts from Cortina are not much different as other AD, in fact, worse sometimes.

I think these days, grey dealers give better service not to mention a much better price.

These S.A.s think that working in up market boutique selling high end stuff automatically elevates their status. I have my fair share of bad attitude S.A.s at Mont Blanc and Tiffanys at Ngee Ann city. If they think they are so atas, they should be the ones shopping there! The best service I ever encountered is from Cartier, they really make you feel valued and special. Tods is also good.
