couple of experiences,

I took out a sizeable chip of glass off a glassrack at isetan last time when my sin 756 ( series 1)banged against it. The sales lady and my wife was stunned at the chip. I took a quick glance at my watch. not a scuff..yes my wife was impressed.

banged the dinnig table at ding tai fung with my AP ROO 26401. still no scuff. but worried about hairline cracks. Brought it under a microscope at home to study . could not find a hairline. rather careful nowadays with it.

whacked my 16600 against countless of other watches/tabls/chairs/doors/handle. never bothered..

Deep breathe! However I have talked my self round to the fact that my watch will age gracefully through time and the minor scuffs etc tell the story which adds to the story and history that goes with the watch when it is hand down to my children as a heirloom.

Got one time a colleague was gesticulating wildly and bang his watch onto my watch.

Then he say "aiya bo taiji"

Of course, his watch dunno what brand of course bo taiji la

I check lucky no dings but the polished sides scratched badly.
