    Hi All,

I started collecting relatively late and it was really much later that I discovered watch appreciation, the joy of it etc. That time my dad was wearing pagol and various brands, anyway for those who do not know, a pagol is a watch with a coconut tree symbol and he would now and then bring out his collection to polish.

His favourite was a Titoni Airmaster Rotomatic which I still have.. I remember when I was a kid, I would watch him from my height (yes, I was really short at that time) polish the individual pieces with care and wear them every now and then.

hehe guess it comes with the genes.

    My watch exp:

    1) I started a couple of years back but did not acquire higher end watches, mainly casio, fossil etc.

    2) I still keep my dad collections manily pagol and Titoni and the 1st watch I bought ie a casio calculator and illuminator. Now I'm in love with Panerai, Rolex, Sinn and my seiko SBDA samurai..

    3) I find that Sinn should follow what panerai is doing ie to offer different strips.

    4) It depends, if independent seller is cheaper and the watches are authentic, why not??

    5) I personally find a brand new piece is better. Hygiene etc.

    6) Currently quite intrigued by Tourbillon complications.

    7) No, I buy what I like and catch my eye. No point buying for the sake of the brand if you dun 'feel' for the watch.

    8) Absolutely.

    there, my 2 cents..

    Thanks for reading. :P

i just like to flip watches every 2-3 years. think i was into watches since 2003...Omega speedy got me into it...prior to that i owned few boy-sized rollies but all sold...

i buy watches based on what i lack (after i look at what i have at that point in time)....in terms of design, shape, functions, complications and movements. usually, after i sold a particular brand, i would replace it with a newer version/model of that same brand.

i do venture into new brands provided i like them and i can afford it at that point in time...of course, i do research on them first before i jump into it.

    cheers

    james

    4) ad for brand new watches like when i bought my mom a watch. otherwise for myself, i prefer 2nd hand

    5) personally i like 2nd hand, as the first owner kenna got the brunt of depreciation

    6) No, but i do like those which can measure a 2nd time zone.

    7) no. my reasons are same as #3

    8) sure why not, but provided they have the right design/price and another thing i want is easy to flip. i dont want something that i will get stuck with. i prefer my assets to be relatively liquid
Hmm Hmm Hmm...looks like I found someone which is similar as me..
