For guy ring, you should also look at Chrome Hearts designs. Sterling not Gold, but very macho!

For big bling2 with GIA Cert, cannot beat US prices. BlueNile has huge selection & not bad pricing (no need nego -- not cheapest, but won't kena also).

For setting, especially intricate, detailed, difficult, Asian jewelers still king -- best bang for buck (from centuries of royal traditions maybe).

Know a bit since just bought the wife bling2 recently (pocket still pain2)

As to investing in GOLD...

I am looking for a nice, timeless design...still hunting around. So far after going through a number of shops, Jewel Couture by Ying @ Orchard Delfi has something that caught my eye. Any comments?

Few friend of mine are into diamond recently and I'm thinking of getting a ring.

Was recommended some diamond ring with 0.3 to 0.5
(mostly GIA G VS2 )
Is 2K a good price?

Does hearts and arrow command a higher price?

yes, hearts and arrows diamonds cost more but just make you are getting 3 excellent in the GIA certifiation and don't just take the words from the salesman's mouth or in-house certification...

0.31ct I got it off the shelf paid low 1k+...pretty reasonable, not certified but it doesn't bother me as I am wearing for casual.

Took me a damn long while to find this ring with a decent and unique design. Damn hard to find something for guys.

Like for my mum..some of her jewellery the design quite old or she cannot fit in already. I m planning to bring her to the jeweller I got my ring from...pretty small shop but very personalized service and unique designs. I got her a pendent with necklace that time from the same place..and she loved it!

Nahh it's actually following this design..the most fav watch of unkers...a ring to match their lorlec king...
