I guess being born in an already extremely wealthy family puts more pressure on the child/children to perform the same if not better than their parents to expand the family business even more.

Well for the rest of us, even though we do not have that pressure, we have different kind of pressure, to feed ourselves and to climb up the corporate ladder or to grow our own business and become a big corporation, some may succeed while the majority will fail or be stagnant.....

Platinum spoons are quite cool...

... but I guess I'd prefer the silver spoon myself. One of my friends didn't get a car for his 21st birthday, but he got a ring with his family crest (not a crest for a common family name which his family shared, but the crest specifically given to one of his direct ancestors). He'll end up being one of the idle rich / old money, never having to "sully" his family by "involving oneself in commerce". He's humble, but probably looks down on "new money" / self made wealth. As for me, I'll still be at work each day...

Nope! His family is some big time property developer. I 've never been to his house but heard from a friend that his house got east wing west wing one!!! He change car faster than we change cloths but he's a real humble guy who dosent talk big or look down on people. Dun know if he's into watches or not? didnt ask him.
