Seiko is nice for beater. Only thing I don't like is the mineral crystal...
Maybe you can go see see ball watches. Good price/quality.

5712 - go for it. There are 2 versions. One has an extra dot after the 48 dot on the PR (not many people know!)

Extra dot is newer...2008 or later.

Dunno which is more sought after though.

... today's addition- dual toned SANDOZ sub with black dial. Too bad, saw the one with blue dial @ mustafa n other shops, but not this regular joint i visit... (...btw, paid less than SGD$38x for this piece, not pre-owned, it's BNIB w/warranty!)
