a promotional video on how LV men loafers are made.
might not be fully representative but quite educational.
    worth the premium?

I have TODS, Bottega Veneta, Salvatore Ferragamo and Bally. I would say TODS & Ferragamo are the most comfortable among them followed by Bottega and Bally last. I've always been eyeing a pair of LV loafers but like other forumers said, they are definitely way overpriced. A good $200 at least more ex than TODS/Bottega.

Tods makes really comfortable shoes. Tried a few brands already, most are either not very comfortable or don't last very long. Currently experimenting with shoes bought from Europe that use Italian leather - soft and breathable.

ferragamo for casual, bally for formal and tods for dress. thats it. although an Hermes is still my holy grail.

i got lucky as there was a sale at the airport and was able to get a ferragamo for half the price, original price is 600+.

actually most blake, goodyear welted shoes can be resoled by a capable shoemaker.
the cost of going back to the original shoemaker is quite high. For Bally, it could be getting a new pair of shoes that's on sale.

Currently my favourite brand for shoes is Moreschi - nice Italian-made shoes which fit really well. For English ones, I like Crockett and Jones, should last me a loooooong time since I can get them resoled

love those leather soled shoes but they hurt my feet due to the lack of cushioning.

No best lah, many top brands are very good. Designs also play a part.
But i do like Ferragamo and Bally a lot.
Not the new designs but the old school classic ones.

Of course Church's makes good shoes. I bought the Bally because it was a 75% discount.
