I've got a pair from herring, a uk brand and am rather pleased with the price to quality. Also for value for money ready to wear, Crockett & Jones are very nice

RM Williams's, Cesare pacioti and Redwings are best I've tried so far...

i've only got 2 pairs of dress shoes - both goodyear welted. i believe in buying something that will last a long time... and i don't like changing shoes.

i've owned a pair of alden shell cordovan PTBs for almost 8 years. and my wife bought me a pair of loakes corrected grain leather oxfords (50% discount from robinsons) and i've worn them for more than a year.

my cordovan shoes have been resoled once and taps replaced twice. this is a pair that will last me until i die...! they can also be recrafted in future.

my leather shoes are in okay condition, no work needed yet and holding up quite well (considering the price of $195 and no taps/protectors installed)

i notice that singaporeans like to throw away shoes after a few years and buy new ones... is this a common practice? it seems quite expensive and wasteful...

does anyone know where i can go to have taps installed on my shoes in singapore?

    Some worthy investment...

Cole Haan, RM Williams (Aussie brand), Clarks (if shop online for wider selection).

For me, it lasted 2-3 years before I need to change:-) But I don't buy a lot of leather shoes from them due to limited designs.

    Cheers

Other then decoloration for brown / cream color shoes and i am very sure the leather sucks .... personnal view for pedro shoes i own. After a few weeks the toe area peels off after touch water / light drizzle.

I will not walk into any pedro shop these days.... the money can buy everbest. or top up for better shoes ...
