  • At what age do you guys started this poison ?

I remembered it was when I started collecting vintage american pocket watches some years ago, and I was in my early 20s. What about you? I noticed, from what my friend told me most of the people who collect watches started around 30s.

Also do you ever harbour the thoughts of making a watch from scratch by yourself ? It is difficult we know, but a dream is still a dream. I have the thought, and the dream to make a watch from scratch which i can wear and show.

Ah, I got poisoned a fair bit later, only in my late twenties, early thirties and waited for a few years (end 2007) before plunging into high end pieces. My first serious piece was a Mont Blanc Timewalker GMT, followed by the humble IWC Mark XV. Semi-Grail piece at that time was a Panerai 112 and the ultimate grail was the IWC Big Pilot but things have changed pretty fast since then, hehe.

My grandfather gave me his 16014 when he passed away back in 1998. It was old and not working and I spent $1500 of my meagre salary to restore it at RSC. It was my only expensive watch with a few swatch and G-shocks. Discovered that my swatch and G-shock died one after another but the old Rolex beat on...while I spend much of my money on cars. Think it was in 2004/5 that I started looking at watch seriously. First to catch my eyes was 190G but I only managed to get it in late 2006. My first Pam purchase was a 24D (no box and paper).

Was 26 when i bought my first "real" watch - a GIRARD PERREGAUX "Ferrari" - from Sincere Lucky Plaza. Still remember the entire experience of walking in, trying it on and buying it. Like they say, your first time, good or bad, always leaves a lasting impression ........ hahha
