truth is i tot the meet was to "showcase" some of everybody's collection, didnt realize was a kopi session!!! felt bit idiotic to carry a watch briefcase(Samsonite case, prob feel different)

samsonite briefcase is more of an incident that happened to me...

i changed my part time maid and i was worried about keeping my watches at home (they're not locked in a homesafe and not very nice for me to lock up the room). I don't have a watch briefcase like yours..so i took my watch boxes and put them in my samsonite luggage bag...wheeled it around when i was shopping in orchard...hahaaha...

To me horological happiness is about how much a timepiece means to me, could be the history behind, or sendimental value tied to it, or an episode that it was part of, or the memory it will bring and the most i like is the process during the acquisition. So when it comes to me i'll cherish it. i try to avoid impluse and will adopt a "wait till 'it' comes to me approach"

Balance to me, is timing and budget...my 2c

most sensible approach, very in line with your nature. idiots like me started by impulse, and try to explain it of as "passion" or "the watch is speaking to me" etc et. these days, i have become more like you, though there are still bouts of impulses.
