Daytona is a fine watch with a good pedigree but I dislike the shiny center link is which is a stratch magnet. And for that price, not being able to see the movement is really a shame. I would go for an AP royal oak 15400 or the older 15300. Equal or better pedigree than Daytona and really lovely movement that you can fall in love with. Only issue may be the cost of servicing an AP, which is high.

Agree - makes a big difference if this was a first watch or a subsequent watch missing from the collection. Assuming it's a first watch - I'd go for a Sub Date. A hardy and sturdy watch which goes well with everything.

Personally, I'd top a bit up for the AP RO Diver
