    My story's a little strange...
My first good watch that wasn't a exactly a gift from Mom/Dad/Wife/Sugar Mummy...was an IWC Mark XV.
Bought it from bro Kenkelvin on this forum, but then again, it doesn't exactly qualify as what partly funded the proceeds was the sale of a Mont Blanc Star which was a gift from a female acquaintance. Not wanting to incur the wrath of my wife, I offloaded it and topped up for the Mark XV. Still, topping up over $1k of my hard-earned $$$ at that time seemed like a big deal.
    Sweet 16:
    PP Aquanaut
    VC Overseas
    AP ROO Black Themes
    A.Lange & Sohne 1815
    Breguet Type XXI
    Blancpain 50 Fathoms
    JLC Navy Seals
    GO Senator 60s
    GP Laureato
    Zenith Pilot Extra Special
    Rolex DSSD
    IWC Big Pilot
    Pam 112
    Omega Ploprof
    Breitling Super Avenger
    Glycine F104

For my first month salary, I bought a Citizen Timetrack. That was in 1983! Time really flies...

Although the watch 'up-lorry' already, I cant bear to throw it away.

I bought a Seiko Kinetic in 1998 with my first pay check before I moved into Polytechnic. That was the 6 months Holidays where I found a job and earned my own keep. I bought it from some watch shop in Serangoon Central for SGD400++. I was over the moon when I got it as I had been eyeing it for a really long time. I still have the watch with me but I forgot where I threw it to and tonight I will dig it up and take a photo and post here lol.

My seiko cost only $300plus back in mid-90s when I work part time in orchard boulevard hotel. But it did not survive till I got enlisted in 98. Hehehe. Inflation is really a killer here. The longer you wait, the more you pay especially watches.
