Koh Samui is pretty commercial now.. beach not very fantastic...

My wife and me went to Hua Hin 4yrs back...... Aleentha (if I got the spelling correct).. it was beautiful... Back then, there was absolutely uncommecialised... I stayed at the Penthouse where DAVID BECKHAM & Posh stayed and they flew in by chopper... Nobody knew he was there except the hotel staff.. It was so discrete that his team went abt Asia to scout for a place for him to relax B4 his move to SPAIN RM.
We did nothing but unwind, eat, sleep, relax, read and enjoyed time together as a married couple for our honeymoon immediately after our banquet (like 3days after) before going to Prague.

Koh Phangan: If you happen to be in Koh Samui, why not take the ferry down to Koh Phangan too for the monthly full moon and black moon party. I have only been to the full moon party, fantastic party all nite long (8pm-6am). Oh yes, if its possible, leave the "COs" out of the trip. Haha.

Malapasuca: Nice beach resort north of Cebu. Can take budget airline, Cebu Pacific from T3, follow by a 2hrs road transfer and lastly ferry to island. I went there 1 day after Typhoon Durian swept passed the island. The usual watersports, scuba diving or nua on the beach. The island have good italian restaurant too.

Sipadan: Nice place to dive if you like walls. I stayed at Mabul during my trip. Can try Sipadan water village or SMART, quite cool and resort is built above water. Kapalai is also built above a shallow reef. Can probably leave Seaventure, built on a rusty old oil rig, quite an eye sore to me. Haha.

Redang: Nice place too except for the siren to alert snorkelers, stayed at Redang Beach resort. Simple and affordable place. 5mins walk to the "xia ri mo mo cha" movie set.

If you just want to have a simple beach resort to chill. Can also explore places like Pulau Tinggi/Besar/Sibu. Can just drive up to Tanjung Lemah then arrange for ferry for the island if i'm not wrong. Affordable place so cannot expect world class services and facilities.

Oh Ya, pls try out the award winning Thai restaurant Ba Rim Pa near the end of Patong beach also. The food is superb and the ambience is unbeatable
