There is a watch market for fakes & replicas. But not a reputable destination to buy genuine Rolex/AP. Taxes are relatively high for luxuries goods in China. Most Mainlanders make their luxuries shopping spree in HK.

It is also precisely the point above that the mainlanders prefer to shop for watches in HK.. there aren't many reliable and trustworthy watch dealers in the mainland. Just look at causeway bay in HK streets after street of watch shops and all mainlanders shopping there...

No point to buy gen watches in guangzhou ,food wise plently ..can head to panyu 大石 for nice cheap seafood and canto dishes..concept is like marche style ...their soup is awesome ! can also go to 火车站 for cheap clothings , watch accesories ....

Even the large watch dealers have fakes in Guangzhou. I visit Guangzhou 3-4 times every year on business. Organized crime in Guangzhou is rampant. Do be careful.
