I agree with the views of Kenkelvin. We should have no reservations whatsover to post actual photos of the watch we intend to sell. I agreed most of us have access to a camera phone, there are help hints on such
posting by moderators like Ohlins, and there are many willing to help.

What do you guys make of if every sale post for watch requires at least a photo of the actual watch in question? Not just any photo which you can always copy & paste from the brand's official website. But, the actual photo of the watch that you are putting it up for sale?
This could perhaps, stop some guys from being scammed or putting up an "empty" sale to manipulate the price.
Your inputs? Hope to make trading here, a better & safer place. Thanks.

    Fwah! You gave me heart-attack!
Somehow I read your post as photo of 'seller'. Like that I no need to sell anything on sg-roc liao, all potential buyer run far far away.
Photo of watch is a good idea. Definitely help to minimise scammers/ price manipulators.

check our FAQ section for step by step instructions to post pics....

you can do it here too, but you are limited by size. then we will have threads "how come the image soo small?".

End of the day, host on a server like photobucket; flickr or similar, and give us the link.

I guess it's never going to be foolproof. But, at least, we are trying to improve the system.

Whether the photo is high resolution or poorly taken, it's the seller's choice because a good photo speaks a thousand words.

Whether it's BNIB or LNIB, by posting a photo of the actual, the public would at least knows that the seller genuinely has the watch & not "empty" selling. This would deter the potential price manipulators.

@ Bro Feilong: Of course, the seller can post more photo of different angles of the watch to show the conditions of the watch. It may also saves you the trouble of responsing to different potential buyers by sending photos to them individually. Post all the photos that you have at one go.

Only if you are satisfied with the conditions of the watch (via the description & photos) & the price, then a face-to-face viewing would be meaningful.

I also started off not knowing how to upload photos & I guess it's not too difficult to learn

Good point Dino, I have already run in to one "empty" seller last week, watch is in HK and he is advertising it, said once someone commited he would bring it down and not before.

another rationale is to prevent a potential buyer by registering a new nick to sell a watch he/she wants to buy. then post it as sold with a below average selling price. then the buyer goes to a seller and ask for a much lower price citing that 'hey, so-and-so' sold it @ that price leh.'

however, there is another concern i like to address. what if a genuine seller got no camera to take picture?

Genuine sellers, should bother to post at least one picture.

But...just a few points to ponder on,

    1) If a seller wishes to sell off a $30 casio watch, and has no wish to post photos? Then what? Can't post?

    2) If a seller posts a "BNIB" item, the item should be as described, "BNIB". Photos would do no justice to falsify that claim.(A "LNIB" could pass off as a "BNIB" in a photo.)

End of the day, all of us would still want a "no obligations" viewing of the item, before handing our hard earned cash over.

But, I am FOR this idea, to prevent false claims, scammers, price manipulators, photo stealers & most importantly...wasting our precious time.

This is a great idea, to keep SG-ROC a safe place to buy & sell.

But it still boils down to the moderators, to enforce & include it in the "RULES and REGULATIONS"

    just my 2 cents

Hi everyone, I think a photo of the watch with your nickname written on a piece of paper place next to it. This will prevent people from manipulating the price. A photo of the watch without nickname can be cut and paste from any website. So I prefer a photo of the watch with nickname written next to it pls. Nickname is THE NAME YOU USE in the forum.
