OMG! Pls dont hang your watch there on your door.

Watchwinders have a particular angle of wind (cosine rule) to have effect on the watch rotor. Its not as simple as just swinging it.

French Fries, hope you have some time to read the blog about watch winders HERE!

        cheers.

Hello Ten10. Thanks for sharing and its good to know you have also provided the specs. My winder conked out some time ago and I never bothered to try to fix it. Your post has inspired my tinkering itch. Is the motor rating of 230V 8RPM good for a 2 watch winder?
Mine is a 2-watch winder and there is only one motor driving it.

Also any recommendation where I can buy such a Mabuchi motor?
                I will own a Rolex ................ someday!

The schematic I’ve shown is the actual circuit for this…

This is a 230VAC winder but internally has a step-down transformer that has a 12V output. This means the motor is still an AC type.

I’ve also reviewed this winder (below) and found a slight modification to the circuitry from the one I’ve listed. The general idea is employed.

Its not as simple as just picking any motor to use for a watch winder. Considerations are needed to factor in the anglular momentum, battery life, torgue, etc. etc.

Do check out my blog articles in the DIY Section for more information on watch winders...or come for the Anniversary Dinner to speak with me personally.

                  Peace out...!
