  • IWC Pilot Chrono Question

    Hi Guys,

Went into AD intend to get the Explorer II, however, there is no stock available.

But, SE offer a few other watches to me including Aquatimer, Pilot Automatic, Pilot Chrono plus JLC Master Calendar.

As I intend to keep the watch, the IWC Pilot Chrono caught my eye which I like the design.

May I know how the Pilot Chrono movement compare to Explorer II?
Is the Pilot Chrono a collection watch?
Currently, can I discuss with SE more than 20% off RRP on the Pilot Chrono?

IWC pilot chrono is running on a modified ETA movement - while the EXPII is running on the Rolex in-house movement - 3136.

Yes, if you are sincere, the SE should be willing to offer more than 20%.

    Happy shopping.

        Thank you.
Are there any different between modified vs in-house movement?

Modified movement is a 3rd party watch movement that is acquired by a watch co. & later 'modified' by this co. In-house movement means that a watch company produces & manufactures its own watch movement. So, the latter is usually more costly.

And no, the pilot chrono is not a collection watch. Well at least not yet.

              Hi OceanKlassik,

              Thank you for the information.

In that case, I will stick to the Explorer II with in-house movement.
Now, will look at other AD because the former AD cannot confirm when the stock will arrive.

Just kaypoh a bit.... it sounded you like the IWC more, but...

get the Rolex 1st.... you'll "return" to get another IWC.... if my above observation is right

I intend to get Explorer II, but, no stock with the AD I had visited. To add, SE seem to talk more on JLC master calendar but, in my opinion only, the power reserve indicator is waste on the automatic watch...this is my own point of view.

IWC or JLC, maybe in my future purchase.

Pilot chrono is a nice watch, but I prefer a rollie more.
Never go for subsitute, coz in the end u will still get the explorer 2.
