Ah, gentlemen, speaking of other brands of good and cheap pilots, Glycine watches also under 1k if bought at the right time. Their Combat, Incursore and Airman pieces are quite nice. I used to own a Glycine Type A dial Incursore, nice and right size at 44mm, too bad I sold it because had too many Type A dials : (
I think JW still has a couple of Glycine Airman going at about $950.

hehe.. last time i started off with a mechanical watch and was so impressed that I started collecting more.. $500 watches was considered expensive to me but I still continued to rolex watches eventually.. but i kept my budget below 10k per watch.. luckily i got my rolex earlier, if not nowadays need at least 10k to buy a rolex.. hehe
