Tag Heuer Carrera or F1

Looking to get a good condition Carrera of F1 series.

Any idea on which is better as a 1st good watch?

hi bro... welcome to sg-roc... first of all it depends on your budget and liking... i've owned the f1 series before and own a carrera caliber 16 chronograph now... i'd say the carrera would be a better option cos of the automatic valjoux movement and the looks of the watch... if you like a very sporty looking watch and don't mind a quartz movement then i'd suggest the f1... which is abt $1.5k new after discount and is not so expensive to service compared to the carrera which is abt $4k plus and more expensive to service down the road.... it all depends on what is ur budget n liking.... so we can help u more if you provide more details...

thanks bro! yeps yeps. carrera more ex but looks nicer. haha. the f1 series (black knight for eg) looks sporty but the black coating looks vulnerable to scratches :S I am actually looking to get my 1st nice watch. Quite a tight budget and hence looking at 2nd hand ones in good conditions

price point very different... F1 cannot be used as a formal / dress watch, Carrera can pass off as a more formal watch.

My opinion is get an automatic movement instead of quartz if budget permits..
