IMO, I prefer the black and yellow. It's similar to AP ROO BumbleBee. I find yellow (or gold) matches well with black. White and blue is nice too, but if I were to choose, I prefer black and yellow.
Yep black and yellow also for me..... Nice case and finishing... but it's the ETA Mvm't I don't like... thats just IMO.
Ya as what bro lthg25 said, whether worth getting or not is still your own preference. One man's food is another man's poison.
Personally, the thing that put me off considering the galapagos island edition is the black rubber coating on the stainless steel case. Though it looks nice, I was more concern on how long it will last. Scratches will be easily visible once the coating peels and expose the stainless steel under.
Yup I didnt like the black rubber coat as well....

The Black of the Edition Galapagoes is PVD. Don't think it'll come off that easily.
Anyway, too bad I got to you late. Could have checked out with my overseas contact for you cause they work pretty fast and pretty generous on the discounts as well.

The Galapagos is vulcanized and not PVD. PVD is somewhat like a plating but the vulcanization process is like a powder coat.

I thought and am pretty certain the Galapagos is not PVD but yes it undergoes a vulcanization process that coats the ss case with rubber. However, there was at least one report in wus that the rubber on the pushers came off after some time.

Not at all surprising since rubber is a softer material that will wear. My montblanc starwalker Pen also has a rubberized coating and it peeled after a period of use. Especially after prolong contact with perspiration.
I did ask the AD on the coating and was told that IWC can get it coated again but cannot advise at what cost.

If they charges sgd650 for a deployant buckle, between sgd600-700 for a pair of straps they are likely alto charge an arm and a leg for the coating.
