Advise: New Tag Heuer Carrera or Preowned Omega Speedie

If you are limited to $3.5k, would you buy a brand new Tag Heuer Carrera CV2010 or a preowned Omega Speedmaster Pro / Reduced?

i personally prefer the tag heuer. ha. i'm wearing one right now. i have to say that i like this piece so much that i sold it off before and bought another one again. ha.

There are many other choices that you can consider as well. E.G Sinn, U Boat.. unless you really need a chrono..

I went through like u do.. can't decide between Tag Carrera n Speedmaster when getting my 1st watch.. IMO omega is more to the older gen side(no offence) while Tag is more to younger gen.. As some bros mentioned, go wif ur heart.. I chose a Carrera.. Mayb it makes me feel young when i wear it.. Hope my comment helps..

Hi retroray, I fell into almost similar dilemma when I started out this watch hobby. When I wanted to get my first watch, a TAGheuer, many advised me against it. I didn't listen. Well, to cut the story short, I sold off my TAGheuer after nearly a year of ownership . Not that I didn't love it anymore but for personal reasons. Now I'm contemplating to buy another same pc but is flustered with too many other choices.

What I'm saying here is to follow your heart and not let any information affect you but before you made a choice, gather as much information as possible first. This, I didn't do .

In my current state of "intoxication" (too much poison in me), I will not get either but a ROLEX instead. But in respond to your question, I'll get the OMEGA.

If u intend to get Omega, do not get the reduced size. Get the men size, better resale value. Cheers

Wow... If i can afford, i definitely will buy a new speedmaster. Too bad it is too far from my $3.5k budget. I agreed with edsonchan on the feeling of getting a brand new watch as my first watch.

Just go with your heart bro. Forget about resale as both Tag & Omega does not command really fantastic value when it comes to it - my opinion. Buy something that you like and wear it in good health!
