You definitely won't regret getting the historic models... every thing about it is right... do consider getting the radomir series too

Ya, i love see-thru back (and not just on watches) :P. I think manual is also pretty cool as you get to wind your watch every day...so the historic range pretty much fit the bill and at the lower end of range too.Originally posted by foofam77 View Postgreat..i tot having a see-thru case back would add more "spice" to owning the watch..at least can admire the intricate movements when nothing to do...

Not really... To explain here is too complicated.. You need more time and reading to understand more about Pam... I'm still a newbie though hehe...

icic..will take note in my search..thanx!!Originally posted by nasty204 View Postfrom the Historic range
- PAM 000 , the most basic and probably the best model which represents the icon
- PAM 005 , similar to 000 with the small second hand, this is one of the most advertised model in the last 5 - 7 years
- 183, if you like a more dressy version
all of the above would be a good starter , and also pricing will not be too prohibitive

haha thanx for the reply! i guess i'll look arnd more places 1st..see if got any catch my eye n budgetOriginally posted by stektan View PostAnother one joining the club...the first decision is Manual or Auto.
If manual, next decision is with small second hand or not. If you like simple design with no small second hand, go for 112 (black) or 114 (white). If you like the small hand, go for 111 (b) or 113 (w).
If auto, range is much larger but the basic would be Luminor Marina (104 or 164). Then you proceed to the more functional watches..GMT (88, 297, 161); Submersible (24, 25); Power Reserves (90); Chrono (250, 251), Radiomir (287, 288) and finally the Manifattura series (233, 268, 270...)
But the thing with PAM is this, the model you want is usually not easily available and so, it's pretty much just see what's in stock and if you like any of them. Good luck!!

question: is it true that only manual winding PAMs have see-thru back case?

Good start would be the one of the following:
from the Historic range
- PAM 000 , the most basic and probably the best model which represents the icon
- PAM 005 , similar to 000 with the small second hand, this is one of the most advertised model in the last 5 - 7 years
- 183, if you like a more dressy version
