Well, to continue with updates of my thread, I finally had the chance to order an exotic strap that I have been eying for the longest time... an ELEPHANT hide strap!
Something to brighten up my day as it was raining and I was stuck in bed sick!
I was a bit reluctant to get one because I do not want to encourage or promote poaching so I did a bit of research with regards to the strapmaker and found out that he has a few pieces of elephant hides that he bought from a retiring knifesmith and the hides are 30+ years old. He also ensured that the strap will also be sent with a copy of the CITES certification, for the entire hide.
And since I was getting an exotic hide, I thought, why not get a handmade buckle by the same dude too! The buckle almost cost as much as the strap... ouch! But I had a great deal.
So without further ado... my elephant hide strap!

I wanted minimal stitching as I did not want the stitching to "over-shadow" the texture and grain of the elephant hide.
Yes, the buckle is HUGE!

Half the size of a 44mm Pam??!!

Here is the strap mounted

The beautiful grain stands out and the strap is very soft and pliable.
I haven't had time to punch the hole as my hole puncher is with a friend. So sorry, no wrist shots for now!
