  • How to choose a simple watch winder for rolex?

    Hi experts,
Please share your inputs on how to choose a watch winder for rolex
Or care to share some sticky threads for newbies like me

As some bros have said, it has been head cracking experience choosing a watch,
now Have to crack brain choosing a watch winder

    I have read some terms
    TPD RPM turns
Maybe we are too anal about specifications
    Maybe ignorance is a bliss

I just want to make my rolex keep time
    And just enjoy my hulk

    Thank you for your sharing

Any watch winder brands to recommend ?

    budget ($100-$200)
    quality
    warranty
ability to set TPD and direction for each pod. -- (no need for programmable)
    single watch per pod
what type of holder for watch - foam/rubber vs spring loaded ( foam rubber can liao)
use of batteries needed? (No need )

Saw a good deal at Qoo10 for group buy at $99 for single winder few days ago ! Value for money !? With a wooden case . Look classic !

For every minute, the future is becoming the past.

Very interesting when i saw this quote :

Planning ahead is a measure of class.
The rich and even the middle class plan for future generations,
but the poor can plan ahead only a few weeks or days.
          Gloria Steinem

          If you fail to plan,
          You plan to fail.

I bought my boxy for S$160. Thats quite near the retail price of around S$189. So if you get get one that is near to S$100, thats a good buy. I'm using boxy for my rolexes for the past 1 year. So far ok. Choose the lowest speed.

Just like a car engine, if you didn't drive the car for a long time, thanks to gravity, the oil on the components of the engine will eventually sink into the oil sump, leaving non-lubricated metal. The next time you start the engine, the non-lubricated components will cause more friction, thus reducing the performance and longevity of the engine. This is exactly what happen if your watch is not put in a winder to keep the parts evenly distributed with lubricants. It will affect the accuracy and shorten service life of the watch.

There are some good Navale and Boxy ones at some shops on the top level of Plaza Singapura net to the toy shops.

                      thanks all for your input
yes I bought from ebay made in china
                      around sgd 100++
                      programmable 3 hour

                      2 watch pod

advice-- please do not choose those with tension
mine bracelet is quite small, so cannot fit into the original tension strap
also I do not like the feeling of tension strap stretching the rolex bracelet

I removed the tension strap and used soft cushion to insert in the watch pod

Have you considered Wolf Design Winders. I find them to be quite well made.
