    I would spend $107 for a peace of mind if I'm buying a pre-owned one. End of the day it still boils down to buyer and seller trust.

    Well, if by doing so and give a peace mind; I don't see why not send, since already spend that amount.

    Watch looks good and authentic, but decided to send it to RSC for authentication anyway since this is my first Rollie.

    Lady at the RSC counter took a good look at the watch and questioned me, "Why do you want your watch to be authenticated? Your watch looks ok. We hate to open up new watches, you know. If you insist on authenticating, we can do it and run it thru our database. At least you will know this is not a stolen good. Still cost you $107."

    Ended up leaving RSC without doing the authentication.

    Wah, I just saved $107?
    kudos to the aunties there, yesh you just saved $107 GST included!

    This is very hard to answer question. However, if I brought something not from AD, I will send to RSC for a quick check.

    RSC = Rolex Service Center?
    Also, where are most watches authenticated at? For the more popular brands.

    Ehhm, replacing bezel is not free. Actually if you cancel servicing (after getting the quote) they will still charge $107, same cost as authenticating, since as you said, they will open up the watch to ensure genuine Rolex prior to servicing.

    Is good to have that authentication paper as added document for future trading
    I will want the watch to be re-authenticated rather than using old paper, but at least I can make an offer on price before going to RSC.
