  • 1983 day date pre own worth it???

hi people I just now saw a pre own 1983 version of gold day date no box and paper as it is 31 years old watch selling within my budget but for my budget can get a 1+ to 2 years old pre won GMT M2 2 tone or sub 2 tone. is it worth it for a 31 years old watch or just get the GMT or sub???

They are quite different watches although all Rolex.
    No substitute for each other.
    Must get one of each.

depends on the day date's condition bro... if it's 1983 then it's probably a 18038.... if the bracelet is not too stretched and the case is not polished and if in abt 90/100 condition, then it's worth it to buy... if not then u should get the tt gmt master 2 or tt sub...

the price difference between 18038 and 18238 is not that far apart. i strongly recommend the latter unless the price is really attractive.

the date/day mechanism is not very robust in the 18038 - you can send it to RSC to get it fixed and aligned properly but... at a cost. the 18238 has everything fixed and sorted.

double quickset is also more convenient.
