  • Which best cheap range Rolex to buy.

I intend to buy a cheap range Rolex to wear
and intend to pass it to my son
and hopefully this watch can be a family heirloom on day.
What is the best model to get?

    Hi morning

I don't quite get you what 'cheap range' you mean, but the entry level models should be the Oyster Perpetual(OP), Airking(AK), Datejust(DJ) models I guess. Those with no-date function are cheaper among the range.

And don't worry, any ROLEX model can be passed down generations as family heirloom, as long you take care of it well. Best is to try walking around the shops and try them out yourself.

Yes, I do mean the entry levels.
Of the entry level, is there any "more classic" model that is always in demand?
      In short potential vintage model......LOL.

errr...unfortunately there's currently no "more classic model that is always in demand"

Best is to buy what you really like more, than what is a more popular model that you don't really have feel for it. Maybe the regular 36mm Datejust models are slightly more saleable than the other entry models, if you're seriously considering a classic model.

Yah, I think we should buy what we like instead of going with the herds.

          Thanks for the advice

I would recommend the new Air King.
              I personally like it

The new Air King, or the Explorer 1 could be great 'entry level' options, which to me have the classic and timeless look and feel of a Rolex. A Datejust 34, 36, 41 in stainless steel could also be good options depending on the family wrist size...

My vote will go to the Explorer 1 (214270) and next the 116900 Air King.

Not cheap enough? The 39mm 114300 oyster will get my vote.

So what did you finally get?
Both the Explorer I and the OP 114300 are great watches and they share the same movement. Personally I owned the Explorer I (36mm) but sold it as I could not get used to the small dial. Now with the 39mm dial, I am starting to rekindle that love for the Explorer I again. Both models have the simple looks, but the Explorer I wins for me due to the blue luminance in the dark.

It depends on how you define 'cheap'. Rolex watches aren't cheap in general but the best models to start off (imho) are:

                              - Explorer II
                              - New Sea-dweller
                              - Datejust

I'm not a fan of airking like I see others suggested.
