        Vintage Rolexes

Historic timepieces, especially those discontinued glit dials layered with radium or tritium dials, ages gracefully over a span of decades. Big crowns, and desired dial and bezel fonts characterize the notion of vintages. These days, even if one has the money, these are watches that will find you instead of vice versa.

the most versatile/practical (not the best) rolex IMO is the gmt2c.

the best rolex is 14060M. least amount of parts in any modern sports rolex.

ie, less likelihood of any problems occurring.

although they share the same movement, 14060M trumps the explorer due to its higher WR and triplock crown.

                  Sub the choice!

My choice would the sub with date...not too big (40mm), not too heavy relative to say DSSD, good and simple bezel functionality, and most of all, not too expensive (7k plus through overseas ADs)

definitely daytona. just tried it about 20mins ago at THH. it's a completely different feel from my daily 16600 SD.

                            I completely get your point-

by using BIG fonts like that... looking at them... personally, I find them quite ordinary though... care to enlighten why you like them SO MUCH?

                              Best...

IMO the best Rollie is a sub date cos it's versatile. Can look sporty and yet sophisticated enough as a dress watch. Case not too thick nor too wide for normal wrists. Plus its got a quick set date feature. I like the triplock crown which feels thick and meaty enough for a good grip between the index finger and thumb. Lastly the matt bezel is not a magnet for hairline scratches.

“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

you mean like this one here?

Looks pretty neat and sharp, I would say. Good choice but... I wonder if it is the best... or maybe there is no BEST rolex... something which is so so elusive to what we have discussed so far. SIGH...
