  • Don't Understand the series code. Please enlighten me.

    Hi all

I am new to this forum. Have been tracking this forum and found it to be very informative. I have been reading up in this forum in anticipation of getting a GMT IIc.
However, being a newbie, there is a thing I do not understand - Looking thru the rolex garage, some are M series, some Z series etc. What do they mean? My guess is that the later the alphabet, the more current the model issit? Is there any significant difference to the mechanics of the watch? Will bros consider this critical in deciding their purchase?

    Thanks

      No.. its not true.

The GMT IIc M series and V series (the latest two series) should not have any difference in the mechanism...

Yes and No.. it all depends HOW anal you are about having the latest version. If you buy pre-owned, then in my humble opinion, I would 'try' going for the latest version possible. If I am getting brand new from AD, I think they should all be V-series by now.. I am ONLY refering to the model you are enquiring..

      Thanks
