All this while, buying a rolex was never my intention. I had preferred a later age; like 40 when i am at a Tow Kay status (may be)....However, after coming into this forum, it had changed my perspective and i had taken the plunge.

Only bought my first rolex this year Apr at the age of 32....the next watch that i am aiming to buy would also be a rolex (Either the Deepsea or MTIIc).
      Him:
116520 V series/ 16750 M series /Franck Muller GPC (Red Ergal)/ Nubeo Black Jellyfish (Orange)/ Chopard Mille Miglia 2005 LTD ED/ Tudor Hydronaut II/ Tag Heuer Kirium/ Tag Heuer Formula 1/ Longines 36184566/ Tissot PRS 200 (Michael Owen LTD ED)/ Louis Erard Asymmetric/ Orient

Rolex is not a status symbol, although it is perceived as one, and as such, many think that once must have "made it" to own one.
I know in Oz it seems a bit "foolish" to own such an exquisite timepiece when many of the people place their priorities in other things.

I once read an article, and it said why Asians like to buy luxury watches... it is because they want something to spend money on, but buying multiple cars/boats/etc is too costly to do in a space restricted country like S'pore. Thus you buy something that can be easily kept, such as a watch.

"Rolex is not a status symbol,.."

I beg to differ dude. ROLEX is a STATUS SYMBOL, and in both ways. First, it is a definite luxury timepiece for those climbing up the corporate ladder but not yet there. Second, it is NOT a luxury timepiece for those rich and "up there". Please allow me to explain this in detail in another thread.

              Thx .
