  • Does Polishing affect Resale Value

Maybe this has been discussed but cant find any thread on it.
Thinking of polishing my 10year old Exp 2 and the bracelet, but does it affect resale value after polishing ? Is it better to keep it as is condition?

    Thanks

I think there are always 2 schools of thoughts.

One is to maintain the Rolex watch as it is. The more original it is, the better it's values. Esp. gold watches I heard should not be polished as the weight will reduce, though the polishing is very superficial, on the very surface.

The other one is to send for polishing for a better resale value as new buyers always "look" for dents and dings. If the watch is well-polished, it may be as good as new.

It all depends on what you need. I feel it's a watch for keeping, so be it. It's always hard to prevent scratches, esp. the very first one.
