  • Setting Date in Rolex GMT Master 2

    Hi,

I would like to find if we can fast forward the date adjustment of the GMT Master 2 rather than moving the hour needle manually to set the date one day at a time ? I have seen Youtube video of it being done.. but i heard from friends that is not possible. Please adivce. Thanks!

if you can do a quick set date change on your gmt II, you probably have to go to the AD to demand a change as that would be a fake!

the 3185/3186 movement does not have a quick set date function but uses the hour hands for "quicker" date change.

Hope that explains it as i have an explorer II with the 3186 movement and i have read up on that movement before
          Currently own:
Rolex Explorer 2 Black Dial 16570
          Rolex Precision 6694 (Manual winding)
          Blue Dial/Silver Markers
          Seiko SNZG15K1
Ball EMII Diver green inner bezel!
          Stowa Marine Original (White dial)

          Wishlist:
          Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic PAM 392 42mm

          (gone and missing them)
          Omega Seamaster 2254.50
          Breitling Colt GMT (Black dial)

Only the GMT Master 1 (ref 16700) have quick-set date, i.e. fast forward the date.

But GMT Master 1 you cannot adjust the hour hand independently. So depends on your needs actually. To monitor 2 time zones, GMT Master 1 is the best choice because of the convenient quick set feature. If you have to monitor 3 time zones or more, then should got for GMT Master 2.
