I had three E1s (diff vintages, now left one).
My vote goes to Explorer I I wear mine everywhere, for almost everything. I brushed mine so there're no glossy surfaces, and it looks the part of a toolwatch, and it is a good size (36mm). It feels very contrarian to wear a 36mm nowadays, and that works for me. Submariner was launched a year after Ian Fleming's first Bond novel was published. So he (Bond) couldn't have worn a Sub. Methinks he wore an Explorer I
