It's a movement IIRC, havent seen many watches with this...usually in the older or vintage watches

"Swan neck" index system for regulating the operative length of the spring where the balance is.

this can be clearly seen on the Glashutte original watches clearly - in some cases double swan necks (no performance improvement but good aesthetics).

its a curved spring like thing and pressed the tip of the index adjuster to the adjustment screw.

if the balance is free-sprung, then a swan neck adjuster is never present.
free spring balance adjust the timing by changing the inertia of the balance wheel. the swan neck watches do it differently by adjusting the length of the balance hairspring.

        hope this helps

I am asking cos Stowa boss sent out an email telling those on reservation list that there are 2 versions of the watch:

V1 with swan neck and display back, add 85 Euro for another solid case back and V2 no swan neck and with solid case back. Price diff abt 235 Euro for the extra sapphire glass disp back and swan neck regulator.

I definitely want a solid case back so am trying to decide btw V1 or V2. If swan neck regulatore nothing special, I might as well get V2 and save almost S$500.

no lah, it has a functional use. depending on how it's implemented.
double swans are pure aesthetics - cos the same job can be done by 1 swan neck

Solid case is protection, see through is nice but less strengh, all Roex are solid case and that will be my preference.
