based on the picture, it seems that you insert the buckle end @ 6 o'clock rather than 12 o'clock position. is there any reason why?

Just seemed to work better that way, easier to take on and off? The strap is a 22mm version wider than the lugs but I prefer the chunkier looks so nothing that a scalpel and lighter cant sort out.
