Possible for a model 1601 to be Half Gold?

Hi everyone,

Recently, I took out a Rolex Half Gold and checked out the 12 O'clock position and to my surprise found it to be engraved with model 1601, so my question is can model 1601 be a half gold?

All along I always remember model 1601 as White Gold model? Isn't it supposed to be Datejust WhiteGold? Maybe I m wrong, correct me please as I m still learning...Cheers and thanks!

Though it's stated as 1601 on the casing,

it can be ....

1601-4 (SS)
1601-3 (TT half gold)
1601-8 (Solid YG)
1601-9 (Solid WG)

Hello,
Ref 1601 came as either solid gold, two tone or steel..... or steel with white gold bezel.

So - ref 1601 is correct as two tone.

With that said.... I have seen a Steel 1601 converted to a Two Tone!!!

The fashions change..... and people now want steel (and NO MORE TWO TONE!)

May I know 1601-9 (Solid WG) or steel with white gold bezel...how do I verify the WG huh? Anyway to verify the 18K WG on the white bezel?
