Secrets of Rolex - Article ( LINK )

    http://www.watch-around.com/en/subsc...-de-rolex.html

Good article to read on "Secrets of Rolex".

    Interesting part:

" In 1941 Rolex, with prices ranging from 60 to 100 yen, was at the low end of the market, just above the American Waltham Watch Co. (50 to 85 yen), but far below Longines and Omega (150 to 250 yen) or Tavannes Watch Co. and Zenith (80 to 230 yen). Technical quality thus contributed little to making Rolex the top watch brand. "

    ???

True, but perhaps like the real estate here.... perhaps it's over inflated ?

The GMT2 C at SGD equiv of $8.6K is tempting

( note - the list is what they buy for, plus margins.... I'd say a dealer here would buy for the same ? There is a Loan Shark office in Bedok selling a DSSD for $10250 at the moment ! )

I wonderbif the US watch makers suffered the same fate. What i undertand, the US watch industry was virtually killed off by 'cheap' swiss watches.
