  • rolex datejust (pls help)

    Hi all,

i got 1 rolex watch, bought from a 2nd hand dealer.

rolex datejust (lady) 4 yrs old watch.

i'm turning the rolex crown anti-clockwise direction for setting my date and time hand, is this normal? cosz i got a friend telling me it's turning clockwise direction.

    Please advise, thanks.

that isnt possible to start with.........

you have to unwind it anticlockwise to unscrew from the case, then change the time via the third position (all the way out) and wind clockwise for the hands to move forwards.

since it is a 4yr old watch, changing date is quickset which is in second position

      Hi,

      Thanks for the reply,

Yup, i unwind it anticlockwise to unscrew from the case, then pull out to the 3rd postion, turn anti-clockwise for the timehand to move foward, and to the 2nd postion turn anti-clockwise for the quick set date.

But for my rolex boy, i'm turning clockwise for both settings.

Some bros PMs me saying depends on wat kind of caliber of the movement, some are clockwise some anti-clockwise.

      Sorry and still bit blur.

First congrats on having a quality time piece. It is perfectly normal to change date and time anticlockwise for some datejust models. I bought my mum a brand new "D" series rolex datejust from local AD, Dickson and it is the same as you describe. No worries enjoy the watch.

At first I was also shocked as it was different from all my sport model Rolex but ask the AD about it and they told me some datejust models are like that. Perfectly fine.

Ok ok let's not make you blur...

once you release and pull out all the way...when u turn...is the motion towards your body or forward?

why should the watch differs in adjusting the date/time? shouldnt it be standardised?
