  • Fake Bracelet Links!

    May I know how to tell the genuine of Rolex bracelet links? Can Rolex tell the different? Any engraving on the Links?

    very difficult, especially to untrained guys like us. guess the best place is RSC.

    if any shi-fu here could do it, please share with us.

      Only way is through weight,the style it is polished...and lastly if it fits perfectly into the watch.

      And the most basic 2 ingredients...experience and more experience.

      Not easy for some experienced people though. There are only engravings on the piece connecting to the lugs.

      But seriously.$75 for Rolex to check a damn link? I rather live with it unless got problem hahaha....

      Oh yes..usually fake links cannot really last and the screws may not fit well or are dirty...

        thanks bros for the details, as I heard that are alot of vintage watches using fake extra links. Just wonder whether Rolex centre check the links?

          just to add further to what bro darkie has mentioned....

          the whole band shldnt feel light in the hands... all, if not most (pls correct me if i'm wrong), newer rolex models have solid links... the edges on the links should not be sharp or overly rough...

          rolex also use different grade of steel for the cases and bracelets... not really sure if the difference can be seen with the untrained eye if an original and fake were to be placed side by side....

            I always considered S$75 is worth spending for verification at RSC, if you observed and appreciated the check process carried out;

            On 2 occasions, I was advised by the staff to reconsider on purchase of the watches that sent in for checking, needless to say that save me a lot trouble.
